What would you think about when we mentioned Verdi? Undoubtedly, we may think about the name of “King of Opera”. From “Rigoletto” “Trovatore” “La Traviata” to “La forza del destino” “Ocello” and “Aida”, this composer had tightened his life with opera, brought us a lost of pieces of art in his entire life.
 
Among these famous pieces of Verdi’s works, opera “La Traviata” should be the most famous one. Though the first performance in 1853 was not that popular, but Verdi was very confident and he thought “Time will prove everything”. Surprisingly, two years later in 1955, when the opera was on show again, it got high praise and became popular among the audience. Start from when, opera “La Traviata” by Verdi became famous in Europe, even around the world.
 
In 2011, Artemis Dance Company combined the opera with dancing elements and reproduced the work of “La Traviata” in new style. The founder and choreographer Monia Casadei well used the dancers’ body as instruments, to define, strengthen, transfer and recall the music power from Verdi’s opera, so as to create a dramatic performance full of visual impact. This dancing work has been toured around the world and has a good reputation.
 
In 2017, the annual performing season of Grangzhou Grand Theatre, the Artemis Dance Company will re-deductive the classic “La Traviata” for the audience.
