The second appearance of Nuremberg State Theatre, “Terror”, “The 39 Steps” showed the charm of German dramas -- CCTV

In 2015, Germany Nuremberg State Theatre performed the classical drama “Death of a salesman” in National Centre of the Performing Arts for the first National Drama Season. Two years later, during June 21st and July 1st, 2017, the Nuremberg State Theatre appeared again in the 2017 National Drama Season with two wonderful works “Terror” and “The 39 Steps”, showing the unique and creative charm of German dramas.
“Terror” was the latest work by German’s famous lawyer and writer Ferdinand Von Schirach, which had a strict structure and told the story of human nature and prayed for redemption. Moreover, the drama linked the audience and the lines, the audience could be part of the judgement on the court. They could vote and decide the destiny of the prosecuted, making the trial more interesting.

“The 39 Steps” was the classical work from the suspense master Hitchcock. It was adapted from the novel by Scottish writer John Bacon, which told the crazy journey a bachelor Richard Han experienced because of a espionage organization “The 39 Steps”. During the journey, Richard encountered his beloved in his life, but also got involved in a murder innocently. Finally, Richard proved himself with no guilty and became a hero who protected the nation’s secret. As a drama, “The 39 Steps” used different performing ways to creatively produce a stylish comedy with only four performers, which allowed the audience enjoy the charm of German dramas with laughs.
