“I want your love, I want your ugly, I want your disease I want your everything...” Last night, the classical song “Bad Romance” of Lady Gaga kept playing on the stage of NCPA. The song was from the drama “The Visit” from Deutsche Oper Berlin. Accompanied by the song and the stylish stage design, “The Visit” performed the first time in Beijing for the audience.
 
As a classical drama, “The Visit” has been performed in different forms in front of the world’s audience, but the version performed by Deutsche Oper Berlin last night broke the audience’s traditional recognition towards “The Visit”. “Different people play one character and one play for different characters” is the highlight of the drama.
 
Famous actor and director Feng Yuanzheng said:”I benefited a lot from my study time in Berlin. The Germans do things strictly, so as their dramas, they organize every part extremely well, so when we enjoyed the show “The Visit”, we could not see other colors apart from black, white and red, which defined the Germany’s extreme vanguard and deconstruction style. While the Germany will be very realism if they were working on the realistic themes. Those are the ‘extreme’ that make me shocked and admired.”
 
Director of “The Visit”, Bastian Kraft said:”The audience are familiar to ‘The Visit’, although our version is quite vanguard, I still want to put more thoughts towards realism. I want to get involve the audience and let them to feel empathy when they are watching the drama: If that were me, what would I do?”
